  • Monitor your spindle load when running a high feed rate 
  • Running your spindle load too high may result in a damaged spindle

  • Always start with your feed at 50% or below
  • Gradually bring the feed rate up while monitoring chatter and spindle load

  • With HSS drills always use a peck drill cycle
  • Make your peck depths a maximum of half your drill diameter 
  • Example: 0.250 in drill diameter pecking at 0.125 depths
